The Anti-ragging Committee of an institute is a very important part of any Educational Institution. As per the UGC guidelines under the Act of 1956, which was modified later as UGC regulations on curbing the menace of Ragging in higher Educational Institutions, 2009, establishment of Anti-Ragging Committee is mandatory for every educational institution. Ragging is defined as an action that intrude upon a student’s dignity. Ragging in any form is totally banned in the college and anyone found involved in ragging is liable to criminal prosecution.

To build a ragging free atmosphere in the college campus by passing a clear message that zero tolerance will be maintained against any form of ragging. Everyone will be instilled with the sense of democratic values, acceptance, sympathy, consideration, and compassion towards the students of the institute.

— Mission of Anti Ragging Committee
  • To make aware the students of brutalizing effect of ragging inherent in its unfairness.
  • To keep continuous vigil in the institute premises so as to prevent the occurrence and recurrence of ragging.
  • To promptly and strictly deal with the cases of ragging reported to us.

  • To prevent any act of Indiscipline, Mocking, Annoyance, Hardship, Psychological Harm, Fear or Apprehension towards the students.
  • To prevent any form of Financial Extortion from the students.
  • To prevent any form of Physical Abuse of the students resulting in Harm or danger to Health.
  • To prevent any form of mental abuse of the students by verbal and/or written content including social media as well as public insult etc.
  • To prevent any Act of infringement of the fundamental human rights.
  • To prevent Any Act of Wrongful Confinement, Kidnapping, molesting, and intimidation of the students.
— Objectives of Anti Ragging Committee
  • To prohibit any conduct in any form by anyone which has the ill effect of ragging a fresher or any other student.
  • To impart awareness among the students about the negative consequences of ragging.
  • To keep a constant vigil in and around the college campus so as to prevent the occurrence of ragging.
  • To address matters related to ragging immediately and take necessary action as advised by the committee.
  • Anti-Ragging Committee executive meeting will be held at least twice in an academic year.

  • Addressing complaints: The ARC's main objective is to handle complaints related to ragging incidents in a fair, impartial, and confidential manner.
  • Providing a safe environment: The ARC ensures that all students feel safe and secure in the college campus and that they have an easy mechanism to report any instance of ragging without fear.
  • Investigating complaints: The ARC is responsible for conducting thorough and impartial investigations into the complaints it receives. This involves gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and assessing the credibility of the information presented.
  • Protecting the rights of both parties: The ARC aims to protect the rights of both the complainant and the accused during the investigation process, ensuring that no party is unfairly treated.
  • Preventing ragging incidents: Beyond addressing individual complaints, the ARC plays a proactive role in creating a safe environment for the students by conducting awareness and prevention programs.
  • Ensuring compliance with laws and policies: The ARC ensures that the organization complies with relevant laws and internal policies regarding ragging.
  • Maintaining confidentiality: The ARC keeps the identity of the complainant and other individuals involved confidential till the end of investigations to protect their privacy.
  • Providing support and guidance: The ARC may offer support and guidance to the students who have experienced ragging.
  • Creating awareness: The ARC raises awareness about the importance of preventing ragging.
